Waawaateg, meaning ‘there is a display of the northern lights’ in Anishinaabemowin-Ojibway, brings together Indigenous art, storytelling, and technology to create an interactive and immersive installation in Confederation Park.
Discover the unique perspectives and creative expressions of five Indigenous artists and storytellers through their captivating installations. With your phone, scan a QR code on each artwork to hear the stories that inspired their creation.
Join us on March 10th at 6:30 PM for the Waawaateg Opening Ceremony, featuring Indigenous food, vendors, and a special performance by Tarniriik, a renowned throat singing duo who have graced many high-profile events in Canada.
