Come Cheer, Support, and Make a Difference: The Tri-Colour Classic Awaits!
The heart of Kingston will beat with enthusiasm, hope, and unity on October 19th, as the Leon’s Centre comes alive with the echoes of basketballs bouncing, sneakers squeaking, and a roaring crowd cheering for a cause bigger than any game. The Tri-Colour Classic, an epitome of passion and dedication, returns to invigorate the spirit of Kingston once more.
Founded in 2021 by the visionary Hunter MacKinnon and bolstered by a team of 20 diligent executives, the Tri-Colour Classic emerged from inspiration drawn from the Cure Cancer Classic. Fast forward to 2023, and the team has almost doubled in size, boasting 38 students spanning across four faculties, all united by a singular mission: to combat childhood cancer.

Why The Tri-Colour Classic Matters:
1. A Beacon of Hope: The event is more than just a basketball game. It represents hope. Every dribble, every cheer, every point scored, is a step closer to fighting childhood cancer.
2. Doubling the Impact: In collaboration with the Canadian Cancer Society, every contribution made finds a matching donor, effectively doubling the funding and, in turn, our potential to bring about change.
3. A Track Record of Success: In its very first year, the Tri-Colour Classic, with its legion of donors and supporters, managed to raise over $50,000. These funds were directed to the Dr. Donald Mabbott lab at SickKids, ensuring that research and treatments could continue to flourish.
4. A Confluence of Faculties: This year’s game once again pits Commerce against Engineering, but remember, regardless of which team wins, the real victory is the collective effort towards a cancer-free world for our children.
