This is Bella’s story:
Isabella is a 13-year-old young lady who tore her ACL during Soccer. She underwent surgery in October 2021, at Kingston General Hospital, and although the surgery was successful, Bella was unable to wake up from the Anesthesia.
When she finally regained awareness, she was dazed and confused, and her health progressively worsened.
She has since declined dramatically instead of getting better. She is no longer able to walk, is in constant pain and no longer able to speak. She sleeps most of the time
Bella’s mother Yanet has had to take an extended leave of absence from work to be by her side while her dad Trevor, has been commuting Kingston to Ottawa, and now Toronto working as possible.
Her parents and doctors are discussing a surgery to the brain referred to as (DBS) Deep Brain Stimulation.
These surgeries will be performed at SickKids Hospital in Toronto.
They will be in Toronto for approximately 6 weeks with all the expenses visiting Toronto will bring.
