
WordLabs Community Launch Event
Kingston Literacy & Skills (KL&S) is thrilled to announce the official launch of WordLabs, a new not-for-profit literary arts initiative designed to nurture writers of all levels through year-round workshops, seminars, and peer writing groups.
Join us for a free, community celebration on Tuesday, June 24 at 7:00 PM at 16 Bath Road, Kingston, as we introduce WordLabs and celebrate the power of creative expression in our community. This welcoming launch event will include a guided tour of the new WordLabs space, a meet-and-greet with program instructors, and a roundtable discussion featuring local artists and WordLabs faculty:

Hosted by Aara Macauley, former Artistic Director of Kingston WritersFest and now Program Lead for WordLabs, the evening will explore the value of creative writing, storytelling, and community connection.
Whether you’re an aspiring author, a seasoned poet, or someone simply curious about the literary arts, this event is the perfect opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and connect with Kingston’s vibrant writing community.
What is WordLabs?
WordLabs is a KL&S initiative committed to creating inclusive, accessible, and meaningful writing opportunities in Kingston. In addition to adult workshops, the program will include a youth writing stream and a freewriting drop-in group—offering something for everyone, regardless of background or experience.
