Tett Adult Arts Retreat: Fall Edition

Discover, create and connect during the Tett Adult Arts Retreat: Fall Edition, taking place Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning in Kingston.

Designed for adults ages 18 and older, this immersive day-long retreat invites participants to explore new artistic mediums, develop practical skills and connect with fellow makers. Guests will move between artist studios throughout the Tett Centre, learning directly from experienced artists and instructors in an inspiring creative environment.

With registration limited to only 12 participants, the retreat offers an intimate, hands-on experience centred on creativity, experimentation and community. No previous artistic experience is required—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to try something new.

The day begins with Needle-Felted Pumpkins and Gourds from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Instructor Hollie Currie of the Kingston Handloom Weavers and Spinners will introduce the fundamentals of sculpting with wool as participants create charming seasonal decorations.

From 12:45 to 2:45 p.m., former Creativity Studio artist Jabra Mitwasi will lead a Gel Plate Printing workshop. Participants will experiment with colour, texture, found materials and botanical elements such as leaves and plants, producing a collection of vibrant, one-of-a-kind prints to take home.

The final workshop, Introduction to Clay, runs from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Linda Fraser of the Kingston Potters’ Guild will guide participants through basic hand-building techniques as they create their own ceramic pieces. Glazing and kiln firing are included.

Registration includes all three workshops, expert instruction, art materials and supplies, light refreshments and Tett swag. A boxed lunch is optional. A waitlist will be available if the maximum registration of 12 participants is reached.
