Sea Wall
The Kick & Push Festival is packed with incredible plays and performances, but one you absolutely won’t want to miss is Sea Wall.
Running August 8–10 and August 13–17, this gripping one-man monologue, written by Simon Stephens and directed by Michael Catlin, delivers an unforgettable emotional punch.
Sea Wall follows Alex, a photographer, as he shares stories about his family, his young daughter, and a trip to the south of France. What begins as a casual, almost meandering conversation slowly deepens into something darker. Raw, intimate, and quietly devastating. It’s a masterclass in vulnerability, grief, and the fragility of everyday life.
Alex is played by the dynamic and enigmatic Craig Norton. Craig recently performed as Mr. Marmaduke Mayhem in The Mumberley Inheritance at the Domino Theatre, a performance the Kingston Theatre Alliance praised for its “classic villainous persona” delivered with palyful energy and perfect comedic timing.
They also previewed Sea Wall and wrote:
With no set, no props, and not even a chair to lean on, Norton commands the stage with his presence, vulnerability, and deep emotional range.
You can purchase tickets for Sea Wall at the Grand Theatre website.
