Kingston MGK Pageant
Celebrate drag excellence, creativity and community leadership as the exciting MGK Pageant returns to Kingston on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 560 will come alive for an evening of entertainment, talent and glamour as contestants compete to become the next MGK titleholder.
Rooted in mentorship, artistry and inclusion, the reimagined Miss Gay Kingston crown recognizes the performers who help make Kingston’s drag scene vibrant, diverse and unapologetically joyful. The pageant celebrates much more than an individual performance: it honours the dedication, imagination and community spirit that local drag artists bring to their work throughout the year.
During the evening, contestants will have opportunities to showcase their personalities, talents and unique approaches to drag. Audiences can expect bold creativity, memorable performances and plenty of pageant glamour as each participant brings something distinctive to the stage competition.
The MGK Pageant also shines a light on the important role drag performers have played in Kingston’s LGBTQ+ community. Through entertainment, fundraising, advocacy, mentorship and the creation of welcoming spaces, local artists continue to build connections and encourage people to express themselves proudly.
Whether you have supported Kingston drag for many years or are attending a pageant for the first time, this event offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the excitement of a live competition while celebrating local talent. Every cheer from the audience helps create the encouraging atmosphere that makes community pageants so memorable.
Bring your friends, choose your favourite contestant and prepare for an evening filled with excitement, artistry and pride. With the crown waiting and a new chapter in MGK history about to begin, the performers are ready to give Kingston a show to remember.
Come celebrate this year’s contestants, support the artists who contribute so much to the city’s cultural life and witness the crowning of the next MGK titleholder!
