Kingston Baroque Consort – Baroque Celebration Feast!

An evening of elegance, energy, and musical brilliance awaits as the Kingston Baroque Consort presents the grand finale of its fifth season: Baroque Celebration Feast!

Taking place on Friday, May 8 at 5:15 PM at St. James Church, this special concert brings together some of the most vibrant and joyful works of the Baroque era in a program designed to uplift, dazzle, and inspire.

At the heart of the performance is the iconic Johann Sebastian Bach Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 — a masterpiece celebrated for its intricate interplay between soloists and ensemble, brimming with rhythmic vitality and expressive brilliance. This cornerstone of the Baroque repertoire is paired with equally captivating works that highlight the richness and grandeur of the period.

Audiences will also experience the triumphant Prelude from Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Te Deum, featuring the stirring sounds of timpani (Edward Reiffel) and trumpets (Paul Sanvidotti and Jennifer Day), a piece widely recognized for its regal and celebratory character. Adding to the festive spirit is Pavel Josef Vejvanovský’s XXV Balletti per il Carnevale, bursting with lively dance rhythms, and the radiant Arrival of the Queen of Sheba by George Frideric Handel, a work synonymous with joy, elegance, and musical storytelling.

Performed by a talented ensemble of local musicians — including violinists Gisele Dalbec-Szczesniak, Andrew Dicker, Lisa Draper, Venetia Gauthier, Danielle Lennon, and Julia McFarlane; violist Eileen Beaudette; cellists/gamba players Jeff Hamacher and Tricia Balmer; flutist William Egnatoff; recorder player Heather Schreiner; bassoonist/recorder player Katie Legere; and harpsichordist Michael Capon — this concert promises a rich, authentic Baroque sound brought to life with passion and precision.
