Fort Henry Tattoo Returns
One of Kingston’s most iconic summer traditions returns this July as the Fort Henry Tattoo takes over Fort Henry for an unforgettable evening of music, pageantry, military precision, and fireworks on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Widely recognized as one of the city’s most anticipated annual events, the Fort Henry Tattoo transforms the historic Parade Square into a massive open-air performance space where military and civilian musicians unite for a powerful celebration of tradition and live entertainment. Set against the backdrop of Fort Henry’s limestone walls and Kingston’s waterfront skyline, the event delivers an immersive experience unlike anything else in the region.
This year’s Tattoo features an impressive lineup of five high-calibre military and civilian ensembles performing individually and together throughout the evening. Audiences can expect stirring brass and reed performances, thunderous pipe and drum music, precision military drills, artillery demonstrations, and the unmistakable energy of a full massed-band finale.
At the heart of the performance is the celebrated Fort Henry Guard, whose discipline, musical skill, and ceremonial precision continue to make them a signature part of the Fort Henry experience. Joining them are outstanding local performers including the Rob Roy Pipe Band and Highland Dancers, along with lively pre-show entertainment from the LaSalle Causeway Swing Band.
Adding to the evening’s community atmosphere, Canadian author Tom Taylor, known for his Brock’s Agent historical fiction series set during the War of 1812, will also be onsite for a special pre-show book signing.
As night falls, the event builds toward its spectacular grand finale, a breathtaking combined performance from all participating bands followed by a fireworks display illuminating Kingston’s waterfront and skyline.
Guests looking for an upgraded experience can also purchase Premium Balcony Seating, which includes reserved elevated seating, high-back chairs with armrests, themed treats, and souvenir programs.
Whether you come for the music, the military tradition, the history, or the fireworks, the Fort Henry Tattoo remains one of Kingston’s most unforgettable summer experiences.
