Decrepitude Blues – A Comedy by Douglas Bowie

Decrepitude Blues – A Comedy by Douglas Bowie
Event Category: Theatre, Comedy

Get ready for laughs with a dark twist in Decrepitude Blues, a sharp, bittersweet comedy by Governor General Award-winning playwright Douglas Bowie.

It’s Warren Winter’s 70th birthday—and he’s not exactly celebrating. In fact, Warren’s list of grievances seems longer than his list of guests. Since leaving his marriage, life hasn’t gone quite as planned. His wife’s parting words—“You’ll end up old, bitter, and alone”—seem to be coming true. He’s old, he’s bitter, and yes, he’s alone. But he still has one thing going for him: his biting sense of humour.

What unfolds is a brutally funny, surprisingly touching look at aging, friendship, regret, and the occasional sliver of hope. Whether Warren is navigating broken relationships, facing a dwindling social circle, or reflecting on life’s absurdities, Decrepitude Blues keeps the audience laughing through the tears.
