Band Instrument Maintenance – FREE Clinic

Band Instrument Maintenance – FREE Clinic at Long & McQuade Kingston
Whether you’re a student musician, a parent of a young performer, or a music educator looking to keep instruments in peak condition, this clinic is for you. As part of Band & Orchestra Month, Long & McQuade Kingston is offering a FREE Band Instrument Maintenance Clinic on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM.

Hosted by Lisa, the store’s in-house professional band instrument repair technician, this session is designed to help musicians of all levels keep their gear in excellent shape. From brass to woodwinds, this hands-on clinic will walk you through the best practices for preventative maintenance, explain common wear issues, and showcase recommended accessories to enhance both longevity and performance.

This is a fantastic opportunity to:

Learn how to care for your own instrument between professional cleanings
Understand which accessories can improve sound quality and prevent damage
Identify early signs of repair needs
Ask an expert about specific problems or questions
With school bands in full swing and spring concerts on the horizon, now is the perfect time to tune up your maintenance routine and ensure your instrument stays performance-ready.

This free event is open to all ages and experience levels, including students, teachers, and hobbyists. Whether you play trumpet, clarinet, flute, saxophone, or beyond, you’ll leave with practical knowledge and confidence in your gear.
