Step back in time and explore Kingston’s fascinating legacy of medicine and care with “Pulse of the Past: A Walk Through Kingston’s Medical History.” This guided outdoor walking tour leads you through the city’s historic downtown, illuminating the medical breakthroughs, sacrifices, and challenges that shaped one of Canada’s oldest public hospitals and the Queen’s School of Medicine. Discover the hidden stories of the physicians, nurses, patients, and advocates who made Kingston a cornerstone of Canadian healthcare.

Guided by an expert from the Museum of Health Care, this 1-hour walking tour offers a compelling mix of architecture, anecdotes, and social history. Learn about how medical science evolved in Kingston, the role of women in early healthcare, and the buildings that still stand as silent witnesses to it all.

Important Information:Tours run Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM until August 24, 2025 Each tour lasts approximately 1 hour Tours run rain or shine – please come prepared for the weather (tours may be cancelled due to thunderstorms)
