29th Annual Winter Training Festival

Kingston is set to host the 29th Annual Winter Training Festival from February 16-18, 2024, marking a spectacular convergence of over 500 martial artists from various disciplines. This event, a beacon of martial arts excellence and community engagement, promises to be a thrilling blend of competition, learning, and cultural exchange. Young martial arts enthusiasts will take center stage in a youth tournament, showcasing their skills in sparring, weaponry, and kata. Their determination and discipline will be a sight to behold, inspiring all in attendance. Additionally, the event will feature seminars led by globally renowned masters in diverse styles, ranging from Sword Fighting and Karate to Okinawan Weaponry and the serene Japanese Tea Ceremony. These sessions offer a rare opportunity to learn from the best, catering to both novices and seasoned practitioners.

The festival will also serve as a platform to support local martial artists representing Canada at the 2025 World Martial Arts Festival in Kyoto, Japan, while contributing to the Kingston Food Bank. Expect to be mesmerized by performances from the Tallack Martial Arts Chinese Lion Dance Team and Youth Demonstration Team, which will add a vibrant cultural dimension to the event. For those interested in capturing the essence of martial arts and community spirit, there will be ample photo and film opportunities, particularly during the children’s tournament and the adult seminars. Ken Tallack will be your point of contact for a deeper insight into the event’s offerings. This festival is not just a celebration of martial arts; it’s a testament to the power of community, skill, and cultural richness. Join us in Kingston to witness the fusion of martial arts mastery and communal harmony, as we build warriors and strengthen community bonds.
