The White Buffalo with Emmett Jerome

Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter The White Buffalo brings his powerful storytelling and unmistakable baritone to The Spire in Kingston on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Special guest Emmett Jerome will open this all-ages concert, presented by MODO-LIVE, KPP Concerts and Programme.

The White Buffalo is the musical identity of Jake Smith, an acclaimed performer whose songs combine alternative country, dark blues, Americana and roots-driven folk. His rich voice and vivid songwriting create stories populated by outsiders, troubled souls and people attempting to find their way through difficult circumstances.

Smith’s music has reached audiences far beyond the concert stage through prominent television and film placements. His songs have appeared in This Is Us, Californication, The Punisher and The Terminal List, as well as the films Shelter, Safe Haven and West of Memphis.

The White Buffalo’s music became especially connected with the FX series Sons of Anarchy, which featured 11 of his songs throughout its seven-season run. “Come Join the Murder,” heard during the series finale, earned Smith his first Emmy Award nomination.

His most recent studio album, Year of the Dark Horse, expands his sound through a collection of musical vignettes recorded in Nashville with producer Jay Joyce. The album pairs candid lyrics and memorable melodies with shifting soundscapes, demonstrating the range behind Smith’s reputation as a compelling musical storyteller.

Opening the concert is Vancouver-based artist Emmett Jerome, whose Americana and roots music makes him a natural addition to the evening. Arrive early to hear his set before The White Buffalo takes the stage.

Whether you discovered Smith through one of his television placements or have followed his albums for years, this Kingston stop offers an opportunity to experience his songs in the distinctive setting of The Spire’s Performance Hall.

Please note that the concert is now taking place at The Spire. All ages are welcome.
