Rockin’ the Square Featuring Choir! Choir! Choir!

One of Kingston’s biggest summer events returns to downtown this August with a powerful evening of music, memories, and community celebration.

On Thursday, August 20, 2026, Rockin’ the Square, sponsored by Empire Life, takes over Springer Market Square for a special event marking the 10th anniversary of one of the most significant moments in Canadian music history: The Tragically Hip’s final concert.

At the heart of the evening is the internationally renowned Choir! Choir! Choir!, whose unique interactive performances have transformed audiences around the world into massive community choirs. Their beloved Forever Hip singalong experience invites everyone to become part of the performance, creating a powerful collective celebration of the songs that helped define generations of Canadians.

No auditions. No experience required. Just thousands of voices singing together.

The evening will also feature incredible performances from some of Kingston’s most celebrated musical talent, including Miss Emily, The Abrams, and members of Kasador, paying tribute to the music, spirit, and enduring legacy of The Tragically Hip in the city they proudly called home.
