Nicholas Campbell & The Metre Cheaters

Get ready for an old-school rock ’n’ roll party when Nicholas Campbell & The Metre Cheaters take over Tir Nan Óg in downtown Kingston on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Special guest Tim Sheffield will join them for an evening of live music filled with energy, character and vintage style.

Campbell is a 21-year-old Ontario musician with a deep appreciation for the sounds that helped shape rock ’n’ roll. Backed by The Metre Cheaters, he blends rockabilly, western swing, honky-tonk and straight-ahead rock ’n’ roll into music that feels both familiar and original.

Despite his young age, Campbell has already built an impressive catalogue. He and The Metre Cheaters have released three full-length albums featuring original songs and accomplished musicianship. Their most recent release, 2026’s People Like to Talk, continues the band’s commitment to creating lively new music with an unmistakably old-school spirit.

Their live performances are designed to turn an ordinary evening into a full-on rock ’n’ roll celebration. Expect sharp guitar work, strong rhythms and the kind of infectious energy that makes it difficult to remain seated. Whether you are a longtime rockabilly fan or simply love the sound of a great live band in an intimate room, this show promises plenty of reasons to tap your feet.

Special guest Tim Sheffield adds another voice to the evening. Sheffield is a member of Folk Music Ontario, Folk Alliance International, the American Federation of Musicians Local 518 and SOCAN.

The performance takes place at Tir Nan Óg, located across from Kingston’s waterfront. Admission is $25 and can be purchased online, paid at the door or sent by e-transfer.

Gather some friends and prepare for a night built around genuine musicianship and the enduring excitement of rock ’n’ roll. Nicholas Campbell and The Metre Cheaters are ready to knock your socks off!
