Join the Lifelong Learning Club for an intriguing session exploring the haunting story of the Edmund Fitzgerald, the largest shipwreck in Great Lakes history — lost 50 years ago this month.
Through the lens of Gordon Lightfoot’s iconic ballad and recent discoveries, this discussion will retrace the ship’s final voyage and examine the mysteries, weather, and mechanical factors that may have sealed its fate. Presented by museum staff and local experts, this is a reflective look at one of Canada’s most enduring maritime tragedies.
Held at the Great Lakes Museum, this enriching morning gathering includes:
A 30-minute presentation
Time for group discussion and questions
Coffee, tea, and tasty treats in a cozy and curious setting
This is the first session of an ongoing bi-weekly adult program held every other Monday morning — perfect for history buffs, lifelong learners, and curious minds of all backgrounds.
Advance registration is recommended as seating is limited. Register online or at the museum — some spots may be available at the door.
Come for the history, stay for the conversation. Let’s learn together.
