Kingston Rotary Community BBQ
Join the Kingston Rotary Community BBQ for an Afternoon of Food, Fun, and Community
Great food has a way of bringing people together, and that’s exactly what the Rotary Clubs of Kingston hope to do at this year’s Rotary Community BBQ. On Sunday, August 23, everyone is invited to Rotary Park for a free afternoon of delicious food, friendly faces, and community connection.
Hosted by the four Rotary Clubs in Kingston, this family-friendly event is a chance to enjoy a summer afternoon outdoors while learning about the people and projects that have been making a difference in the Kingston community for generations. Whether you’re new to the city, a longtime resident, or simply looking for something fun to do with family and friends, everyone is welcome.
From 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, volunteers will be serving up a free barbecue lunch, giving neighbours an opportunity to gather, share a meal, and enjoy one another’s company. It’s a simple idea with a powerful purpose: bringing people together and strengthening the sense of community that makes Kingston such a special place to live.
Throughout the afternoon, you’ll also have the chance to meet local Rotarians and learn more about the many ways Rotary supports Kingston and communities around the world. From youth leadership programs and scholarships to local service projects, humanitarian initiatives, and international outreach, Rotary has spent decades living by its motto of “Service Above Self.”
If you’ve ever been curious about Rotary or wondered how you could become more involved in giving back to your community, this is the perfect opportunity to ask questions in a relaxed, welcoming environment. There is no pressure, just friendly conversation and a chance to discover how local volunteers are creating positive change.
Of course, you’re equally welcome to simply come for the food, enjoy the park, and spend time with family and friends. The Rotary Community BBQ is about fellowship as much as service, celebrating the connections that help communities thrive.
Whether you’re enjoying lunch with neighbours, introducing your children to community service, or discovering Rotary for the first time, this free event promises an afternoon filled with good food, great people, and plenty of community spirit.
