Both Sides Now

Some performances tell a story. Others invite you to feel it, live it, and recognize yourself within it.

On April 21, 2026, H’art Centre and PeerLess Productions present Both Sides Now at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts — a deeply moving, one-night-only performance that blends dance, film, and original music into a powerful exploration of life, identity, and connection.

Directed by Kathryn MacKay, this unique production brings together choreography, video storytelling, and live performance to trace the arc of human experience — from birth to adulthood and beyond. Through filmed interviews, nine original dance pieces, and two musical numbers, the performance unfolds as a series of real, lived stories shared by the artists themselves.

Performed by the Artistic Ensemble of H’art Studio, alongside parents, caregivers, and special guests, each piece is rooted in authentic experience. These are not abstract performances — they are personal, collaborative expressions of care, creativity, and the relationships that shape us.

The integration of video design, lighting, and original music creates an immersive atmosphere where audiences are invited not just to observe, but to connect. Each moment reveals how art can be a bridge — between people, between generations, and between lived experience and shared understanding.

At its heart, Both Sides Now is a celebration of community — highlighting the vital work of H’art Centre, an award-winning charitable organization that empowers artists with disabilities and those facing barriers by providing opportunities to create, collaborate, and be seen.
