4th Annual Perennial Plant Sale

Spring is in the air, and it’s time to dig in.

The 4th Annual Perennial Plant Sale at Cooke’s Portsmouth United Church returns this May, offering gardeners of all levels the perfect opportunity to refresh their outdoor spaces with beautiful, locally grown plants.

Taking place over two days — Friday, May 8 (12:00 PM – 6:00 PM) and Saturday, May 9 (9:00 AM until sold out) — this popular community event features a wide variety of hardy perennials ready to thrive in Kingston gardens. Whether you’re looking to add colour, texture, or pollinator-friendly plants to your yard, you’ll find plenty of options to inspire your next planting project.

This sale is more than just a chance to pick up plants — it’s a community-driven event rooted in sharing, sustainability, and a love of gardening. Many of the plants are locally donated and carefully divided, making it a great way to discover unique varieties while supporting a meaningful local initiative.

Gardeners are also invited to contribute. Donations of perennials are welcomed on the morning of Friday, May 8, or can be arranged in advance for pickup. It’s a wonderful way to share your garden’s abundance and help grow this event year after year.

In addition, support is available for those who may need a hand preparing their plants for donation. Assistance with splitting perennials, providing pots, or arranging delivery to the church can be coordinated through the event organizers.
