YMCA Peace Week is an annual event where volunteers who have demonstrated a commitment to building peace within their community or communities elsewhere in the world are recognized.
This year, the Peace Medal Awards Breakfast will be held on Nov. 1 at the Four Points by Sheraton from 7 to 9 a.m. with a very special guest speaker in Tom Jackson. Jackson is an Officer of the Order of Canada, actor, recording artist, activist and philanthropist. He will be sharing his story, Ballads not Bullets, which tells of his journey from the streets of Winnipeg to raising millions of dollars for Canada’s food banks and other charities.
